Sharon knows firsthand the deep pride and profound sacrifice that comes with being part of a first responder family. As the spouse and parent of firefighters, she has experienced the highs and lows of this life with an open heart. But woven between moments of pride, Sharon and her family have also faced tragedy and loss. In January 2015, they lost their son Ryan—a firefighter—and their world was forever changed. Beyond her role as a devoted spouse, proud mother of two, and grandmother of four, Sharon built a successful career as a Sales Manager and Motivational Speaker. For years, she traveled extensively with her husband Bruce by her side. This September, they’ll be celebrating 50 years of marriage. Together, they have given back by volunteering to speak with firefighter recruit classes, and now reside in Victoria, BC. Join us as we connect with Sharon to talk about what it means to love a first responder, to grieve their loss, and to find purpose in sharing their legacy.
